I have seven options:

1-I write about a piece of information someone might want to know about

Example:

Aldi’s is a place to get good, cheap coffee

2-I write about something that happened

Example:

If the coffee I drank at Aldi allowed me to read minds, that would be so interesting and novel that I’d have something to write about.

3-I write something that teaches someone to do somthing

Example:

If I knew how to brew the perfect cup of Aldi coffee, I’d have something to write about (alas, I only know how to brew a decent cup of coffee).

4-I see, hear, taste, touch, smell, do, or think something, and write a review/recommendation of it.

Example:

If Aldi’s brand of coffee was, in my opinion, an excellent, economical brand on par with the much more expensive Starbucks, I now have a topic.

5-I write an opinion piece

Example:

If I find out that the production of Aldi’s coffee involves better pay for the workers who harvest it and ship it, I have an idea for a political essay on my hands.

6-I take a small thing and say “what if.”

Example:

That’s not just a simple, mundane cup of coffee. It’s manufactured by good aliens who know that when I taste it, I’ll remember that they chose me as the warrior who will save earth from an invasion by evil aliens.

7-I take one small thing, and find meaning
